The National Housing trust – is seeking an assertive, astute and analytical individual who will audit its construction contracts and projects island-wide. the incumbent will be employed on a part-time basis and will advise management on the effectiveness of controls and on the financial and operational efficiency of contracts and projects.
Major responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Director, the responsibilities of the Project Auditor include: Developing and executing a Housing Audit Schedule Reviewing terms and conditions, controls and costing of all construction contracts Auditing construction/housing projects and initiating action where breaches or variances are identified Preparing comprehensive reports of works in progress Reviewing reports from Project Managers and making recommendations, and Making presentations to Senior Management/Audit Committee. eligibility
The successful candidate should have:
A BSc. In Construction Management/Construction or Civil Engineering/Architecture from a recognised institution Professional certification in Project Management Training in the preparation of construction contracts Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project or Construction Auditor Working knowledge of environmental issues and associated legislation Thorough understanding of risk assessment Sound knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices Computer proficiency particularly in Microsoft Project and AutoCAD, and
The following skills/competencies at above average levels:
- Communication, oral and written - Organizational - Interpersonal - Analytical, investigative and auditing.
The incumbent will be required to travel island-wide, work beyond normal working hours, and be exposed to conditions related to the construction industry.
